The Virgin Atlantic American Express® Card - White, issued by Bank of America, is designed for those who travel frequently with Virgin Atlantic Airways or any of its partners and would like to take advantage of the mileage rewards program.
Through the rewards program, cardholders earn three miles per dollar spent with Virgin Atlantic Airways and one mile per dollar spent on all other purchases. 12,500 bonus miles are applied to the account upon their first purchase plus, an additional 7,500 miles will be applied to the account every year on the date of the account opening as long as reach $15,000 in spending for that year. Miles never expire, and there is no limit to the number of miles that can be earned. An additional $2,500 miles can be earned when cardholders add an additional user to their account.
The annual fee of $49 is reasonable when you consider how quickly your rewards can add up. There is a 0% introductory rate that applies to purchases, balance transfers, cash advance checks, and direct deposits for the first six billing cycles, and the interest rate is above average for a reward card after the introductory rate expires.
In addition to the reward program, cardholders can expect various benefits such as purchase protection, auto rental insurance, and various travel and emergency assistance services.
